1 Information and Privacy Policy (IPP)

1.1 Protection of your data and privacy are very important to us and we set out here our privacy policy and how we respect and protect the privacy of and all users of our App and also visitors to our website.

1.2 This IPP tells you how we collect information from you and how we use it. It will assist you in making informed decisions when downloading and using our App and subscribing to our services and using our website. It also explains how we use cookies to make the Website more valuable to users

1.3 The purpose of downloading and using our App is so that Clients can verify a Candidate’s SIA licence and monitor the activities of a Candidate (location and hours worked) in respect of an engagement arranged via the Website.

1.4 As a result, you accept:

1.4.1 that some of the information provided to us by means of the App and/or Website will be shared by us with third parties including Clients for the purposes of monitoring and verifying the services provided by Candidates.

1.4.2 that data may be provided to third parties to assist in market research or to optimise their business, on terms of confidentiality.

1.4.3 where you sign into the App using a third party or social media platform for example Facebook or Twitter then subject to your agreement at appropriate points then we may have access to your public information provided by you to that third party.

1.5 If you wish to cease to have your information used for these purposes, then delete the app. If you wish all your historical data deleted, then please request this via admin@securityguardsdirect.com

2 Your Acceptance of the Terms of this Privacy and Cookies Policy.

2.1 You will not be able to activate the App or register to use the Website unless you signify agreement to this IPP. We reserve the right to amend this IPP from time to time and will publish such amended versions of the IPP on the Website and as an update to the App. Your use of the App and/or Website after the date of your being notified of any such IPP will constitute acceptance of such revised IPP.

2.2 We use data and information in accordance with this policy and for the purposes supplied/authorised by you. Privacy settings can be adjusted by modifying the settings of the mobile phone so you can limit the amount of information supplied to us.

2.3 We only share your details with third parties as set out in this IPP.

2.7 We reserve the right to use and disclose aggregated data which does not identify individuals for statistical and business analysis purposes.

3 The data we collect

3.1 Our Site collects and analyses a range of information. Depending on the whether you are using the App or Website, this may include:

3.1.1 biographical information that you have supplied to us or to our clients.

3.1.2 information about the type of mobile device you own.

3.1.3 details of your SIA licence (if a Freelancer).

3.1.4 app Metadata, which means information about the way in which our app is used and how it functions on your mobile device (for example, which app screens you use most, how long it takes to transmit information to us, the volume of information, etc.). Metadata does not include any personal information about you. We collect metadata via Google Analytics in order to improve the usability and performance of our Site.

3.1.5 information received from other sources including other websites we operate or the other services we provide.

3.2 By agreeing to this IPP you are taken to have given your consent for the use by us of such information and data for the purposes set out above.

4 Use of IP Address
An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. On occasions, we collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to analyse aggregate information, and to audit the use and avoid the abuse of our Site.

5 Use of Cookies and Similar Technology

5.1 What are cookies? Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to an individual’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. 6 Use of clear GIFs and tags
A clear GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) or pixel tag (also known as a ‘Web beacon’) is a line of code placed on some of our web pages and in e-mails which, in a similar way to our use of cookies above, allow us to analyse the specific usage patterns of visitors. All data derived from the use of such technology is anonymised and does not gather or pass personal data outside the Site.

7 Supplementary Information
We may acquire information about individuals from other sources and add such information to our house files for the same purposes as for information generally. We will only obtain information from sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn where you have agreed to give us such access by means of your privacy settings in the social media site.

You should be aware that when you are on our website, you could be directed to other sites that are beyond our control. There are links to other sites from our website pages that take you outside our service. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information.
